Windows Recovery is reported to be one of the latest creations of cyber criminals and to be targeted at entering into computers all over the world. Windows Recovery imitates the actions and layout of a reliable and effective security tool. It pretends to be able to solve computer problems and remove compromised files. Not only that, but Windows Recovery claims to be able to warn you about computer infections that threaten your PC. The truth is that this attacker is not genuine security software. On the contrary, it is a scam application that puts your system in danger and can lead to serious system crashes and problems. Windows Recovery has to be treated as a malicious intruder and people have to remember that its scary messages are not true. Windows Recovery uses all the tricks common for rogueware programs to trick a user into paying for its useless services.
Windows Recovery uses two different ways to sneak into targeted computers. Windows Recovery can use malicious web pages to penetrate into PCs. The page has the ability to find vulnerabilities in programs that are running on targeted machines. After that these vulnerabilities are used to transfer Windows Recovery to the computer. Another way of spreading Windows Recovery is through the use of fake online scanners. A PC user is tricked into scanning his system with the fraudulent online scanner. After that he is misled into thinking that there are many compromised files on his computer, and he needs to download some file immediately to fix the system. The victim is not told that Windows Recovery will be transferred to his PC and will be able to infect it. The next step of Windows Recovery is to hide itself deep into the system. Windows Recovery does not need to notify the user about its presence or ask him for his approval to start its malicious plan.

To scare you into thinking there is a serious problem with your system, Windows Recovery will start showing fake messages. They will seem to be system warnings, but, in fact, will be generated by Windows Recovery to make users believe that they need to fix their PCs immediately. The messages will warn the user about serious hard drive failures and system errors. The alerts will include the following information:
System Error
An error occurred while reading system files. Run a system diagnostic utility to check your hard disk drive for errors.
Hard Drive Failure
The system has detected a problem with one or more installed IDE / SATA hard disks. It is recommended that you restart the system.
Critical Error
Hard drive critical error. Run a system diagnostic utility to check your hard disk drive for errors. Windows can’t find hard disk space. Hard drive error.
Windows Recovery will also make a fake system scan of the system to prove that there are many infected files that need to be deleted as soon as possible. However, even if the user tries to remove the specified files, he will not be able to do that as Windows Recovery will not allow him to delete them without paying for the full version of the application. To scare you into buying the fake tool, Windows Recovery will hide the content of some of your folders. Furthermore, it will not allow you to start security-related programs on your PC. Windows Recovery will do this to hide itself from reliable AV tool. Otherwise, they may let you know about its presence and intentions.
All of these deceitful moves are made to mislead users into paying for the bogus full edition of Windows Recovery. Do not be tricked and do not give your money to this fake tool. It will take it and give you nothing in return. Instead, remove Windows Recovery as soon as you can.
