AntiMalware Doctor is a fake anti-virus program, which tries very hard to pass by as a legitimate product. It reports non-existing security threats in order to convince the user to purchase its fraudulent full version, advertised as an efficient security tool.

Trojans, which lie in hide in compromised websites, fake online scanners, fake video websites or corrupted downloads, assist the rogue in its malevolent plan. They are the ones who carry the AntiMalware Doctor infection. Trojans do not seek permission when entering a machine, they exploit vulnerabilities in the computer system and sneak into it unnoticed. Therefor, it is highly recommended to avoid visiting suspicious websites or downloading any files from fishy webpages. Since vulnerabilities are mainly caused by outdated software, it is also advisable to keep all your software up-to-date.

When Trojans manage to creep into a PC, they immediately invite AntiMalware Doctor inside, as well. This infection uses techniques very similar to the ones employed by its predecessor – Active Security. Right after its installation, with the help of malicious configurations, AntiMalware Doctor sets itself as to start automatically every time Windows starts. When started, AntiMalware Doctor performs a phony scan of the system. It reports a whole bunch of security threats and states that the victim needs to purchase AntiMalware Doctor – full version, in order to get rid of them. The list is absolutely fake, and though it consists of the names of real viruses, they are not present on the scanned computer system. The virus names are only used by AntiMalware Doctor in order to scare the victim into purchasing its bogus full version. The truth is that AntiMalware Doctor is even incapable of detecting malware pieces, because it is one itself. What is more, its so-called full version is just as fake as the trial one.

As soon as it enters a computer, AntiMalware Doctor starts flooding the system with bogus alerts and notifications, warning about non-existing in the computer system viruses and a risk of private information being stolen. These pop-ups are displayed constantly, which makes them extremely irritating. Furthermore, they slow down the overall performance of the machine and hamper the user’s proper work on the computer. The main purpose of these alerts is to scare the victim into believing that the scans performed by AntiMalware Doctor are indeed legitimate, and that there might be a number of viruses in the system. The only virus, however, is AntiMalware Doctor itself.

AntiMalware Doctor is capable of using other techniques for frightening its victims and preventing itself from being unmasked. The worst one is blocking legitimate AV programs – AntiMalware Doctor makes sure that the user cannot run his/her genuine AV software. The rogue appears in their place and states that they have been infected. In some cases, it even tries to uninstall anti-virus programs in order to ensure its own safety.

As you can judge by its description, AntiMalware Doctor is not an application that can deal with your computer security problems, if such exist. It only takes advantage of people’s unawareness in an attempt to gain profit by forcing through its paid version, which is a great scam. Additionally, AntiMalware Doctor opens up the attacked computer system for yet other malicious files. Therefor, in case AntiMalware Doctor manages to get inside your PC, you should make sure to remove it immediately!
