There is a new scam message created by hackers and this time it is known as the Interpol – Department of Cybercrime virus. This message pretends to be a legitimate warning sent by Interpol as a result of your illegal actions. Of course, Interpol has nothing to do with this fraud. This message is aimed at misleading you into paying a fee to unlock your PC. This is a trick used to take your money, and if you notice this infection on your computer, do not waste time and remove the Interpol – Department of Cybercrime virus.

This infection is classified as a serious system and information threat. The virus claims to have locked your PC, but, in fact, it has sneaked into the system and modified the registry files to gain control over your computer. After the changes have been made, the malicious intruder is able to dominate your system. It will not allow you to start any programs, and the scary warning will stay on top of your desktop asking you to pay for unlocking your computer.

This message accuses you of violating the Copyright Law and downloading or spreading copyrighted videos, music and software. This is the message, which is displayed:

You have been violating Copyright and Related Rights Law (Video, Music, Software) and illegally using or distributing copyrighted content, thus infringing Article 128…

To be even more convincing, the Interpol – Department of Cybercrime virus manages to gain access to your web camera. Then, the infection puts a shot of your camera on the warning so that it looks even more realistic. The infection claims that you have been watched.

Although the attacker uses the well-known and reliable name of Interpol, the truth is that it has nothing to do with it and is just a scam tool developed by cyber criminals to take your money. You should not pay money to this intruder in order to unlock your computer.

In case that you find that your computer has been infected with this virus, choose a reliable AV program and install it without delay. Then, scan your system using it and detect the intruder. Make sure that you remove the infection completely. In this way, you will protect your system and information.
