Remove International Police Association (I.P.A.) Extortion Virus
There is again a new computer attacker disguised as a legitimate and reliable warning and this time it pretends to be sent by the International Police Association (I.P.A.). This infection uses aggressive techniques and is spread via Trojan horses. Thus, it enters targeted computers without letting their owners know about its deceitful plan. Once this intruder has managed to enter your system, it locks your PC and makes it impossible for you to use it. Moreover, it is a real troublemaker and causes serious computer problems. Last, but not least, this tool puts your computer and information in danger and because of this you have to remove the International Police Association virus if detected.
This infection is known to belong to the LockScreen family and is known to be a Trojan:Win32/LockScreen horse. Members of this family are aimed at entering vulnerable computers and making their users think that the machines are locked. The intruder pretends that in order to unlock the attacked PC the victim has to pay a fee. This is nothing, but a trick used by cyber criminals to take your money and you should never be beguiled by these empty threats.
Users from different parts of the world are attacked. There are victims of this infection in Canada, Austria, Germany, France, Portugal, Sweden, Finland, Spain, Greece, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal and Poland. It depends on the location of the attacked computer and the fake message is displayed in the language used in this country. There are no cases of infection reported in the USA and UK.
In case that your PC is infected with this malicious attacker, you will not be able to access your Desktop. On top of it a fake warning by the International Police Association will be displayed. You will be told that your computer is locked, because of your illegal activities. You may be accused of watching child pornography videos or spreading copyrighted files. Here is the warning displayed in different languages:

Although this attacker seems to be very scary and persistent, it follows a strict scheme in order to accomplish its plan and take your money. The intruder gains access to the system without your knowledge and then detects your IP address. The next thing the dangerous attacker does is to send your IP address to hackers. Once this is done, the infection modifies some of your system settings and displays its false warning on top of your desktop. All of this is done from a remote server.
Do not be scared by this infection, but, also, do not underestimate it. If detected, this malicious intruder has to be removed as soon as possible. Otherwise, the International Police Association virus will allow other malware and scamware to enter your system and compromise it. To get rid of the infection completely you can use an automated security program to scan your computer and detect the Trojan. Then, it is easy to remove the intruder.
